555. It shall be the duty of the Sheriff for Caroline
County to collect all fees and charges in all cases, to which
said Sheriff is entitled by law, including poundage fees,
and submit a report, under affidavit, together with said
sums so collected, to the said County Commissioners at the
end of each month and pay over said sums as provided
by Section 44 of Article 4 of the State Constitution.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or
parts of laws inconsistent herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 176.
(Senate Bill 211)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
170 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title
"State Tax Commission", relating to office hours of
employees of the State Tax Commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 170 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-
title "State Tax Commission", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

170. The Commission shall adopt a seal, and the prin-
cipal office of the Commission shall be in the City of Balti-
more at such place as said Commission shall select and
determine from time to time. The Commission shall be
supplied with all necessary books, maps, charts, stationery,
office furniture, telephone and telegraph connections, and
all necessary appliances and incidentals, to be paid for out
of the funds appropriated for expenses by the General
