Section 2 of this Bill provides "that if Senate Bill No. 98
becomes effective June 1, 1947, with the provisions of this Act,
then this Act shall terminate on that date; otherwise to re-
main in full force and effect." One of the final amendments
to Senate Bill 98 provided for an emergency clause, making
the same effective from the date of its passage and the Bill
has been approved.
This bill is now unnecessary because similar provisions are
contained in Senate Bill 98.
For the above reasons the Bill will be vetoed.
HOUSE BILL 509
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 815
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County
(Flack's Edition, 1943), title "Intoxicating Liquor", as en-
acted by Chapter 299 of the Acts of 1935, as Section 565E
of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
to eliminate the provision that a licensee in said County
who has conducted his business for one year or more, may
transfer the same to a person not a resident of such County.
The subject matter of this Bill is covered by Senate Bill.
98, which has been approved and for that reason the bill will
be vetoed.
HOUSE BILL 826
AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 6 of Article 2B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine and Li-
quor License", as same was amended by Chapter 482 of the
Acts of 1945, said new sub-section to be known as Sub-sec-
tion B-1 to follow immediately after Sub-section B of said
section, relating to Class B on Sale Beer and Liquor Li-
——cense and providing for such licenses in the Town of Ocean
City.
The contents of this bill appear as Section 17 (j) of Senate
Bill 98, which has been approved.
The bill is therefore unnecessary and will be vetoed.
