clerks employed by the Liquor Control Board and providing

98, which has been approved and the bill will therefore be
vetoed.
ALLEGANY COUNTY
HOUSE BILL 166
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 623
of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Sheriff",
as said section was amended by Chapter 806 of the Acts of
1945, relating to the appointment, compensation and duties
of the Deputy Sheriffs of Allegany County.
The provisions of this bill are covered by Section 37A (a)
of Senate Bill No. 476 which will be approved. This bill
therefore is unnecessary and will be vetoed.
HOUSE BILL 382
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
119 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Allegany County", sub-title
"County Tax Collectors", as said section was amended by
Chapter 59 of the Acts of 1931, changing the date for the
annual levy in Allegany, County.
This bill places an unfair limitation upon the County Com-
missioners of Allegany County by requiring them to fix the
tax rate not later than the third Tuesday in January. The
General Law (Article 81, Section 27) requires the levy to be
made before April 1st and Senate Bill 251 will extend that
time to May 1st—well beyond the third Tuesday in April, as
provided for in the local law for Allegany County in Article
1, Section 119.
The bill will be vetoed.
HOUSE BILL 458
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 302
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Sup-
plement), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Gam-
ing", and to provide for an admission tax on Bingo Games
within Allegany County, Maryland.
This bill conflicts with Senate Bill No. 383 in that both
undertake to repeal and re-enact Section 302 of Article 27
