venes in January, 1949; and be it further
Resolved, That the Governor place at the disposal of the
Commission such funds as may be necessary for the proper
study and revision of these laws.

(House Joint Resolution 13)
A Resolution directing the Board of Supervisors of Elections
of Baltimore County to investigate the feasibility of using
voting machines in said county.
WHEREAS, the use of voting machines in Baltimore City has
resulted in speedy and accurate returns of the results of elec-
tions with respect to Baltimore City; and
WHEREAS, in Baltimore County the population and the total
number of votes cast at elections have grown to the extent
that the use of voting machines bears consideration and study;
and
WHEREAS, it is the sense of the General Assembly that
reliable data with respect to the need for voting machines in
Baltimore County and the cost of purchasing or leasing the
same would aid in reaching a decision with respect to the use
of such machines; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Board of Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore County be and
it is hereby directed to investigate and gather data with re-
spect to the feasibility of using voting machines in Baltimore
County, including data with respect to the cost of purchasing
or leasing such machines; and be it further
Resolved, That the said Board report the result of its
investigation at the next session of the General Assembly,
together with its recommendations; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby
directed to send a copy of this Resolution to each member of
the Board of Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore County.
