(40) For any services rendered by the Clerk of any Court
of this State not covered or enumerated herein, the said
Clerk shall be entitled to demand and receive a reasonable
fee for said services. If any party to any proceeding shall
feel aggrieved at any charge made under the preceding clause
of this section, such party may submit the reasonableness of
any such charge to the Judge of the Court in which said
charge was made, and the said Judge of the Court in which
said charge was made, and the said Judge, as aforesaid, shall
determine what is a reasonable charge for such service.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Allegany County to provide for the retirement and pen-
sioning of Messrs. R. Mason Hill and Douglas Le Fevre.
WHEREAS, Messrs. R. Mason Hill and Douglas Le Fevre
have each reached the age of seventy-five years and have been
continuously in the employ of Allegany County for more than
twenty years; and
WHEREAS, there is presently no retirement and pension sys-
tem to the benefits of which these gentlemen are entitled; and
WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that such faithful
and loyal service be rewarded; now therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Allegany County
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to provide
in their levy for 1947, and annually thereafter, for a pension
for Messrs. R. Mason Hill and Douglas Le Fevre, said
gentlemen having each reached the age of seventy-five years
and having been continuously in the employ of said County
for more than twenty years be eligible for retirement
and may, upon their respective applications therefor, he
retired and thereafter each be entitled to, and be paid, an
annual retirement allowance not to exceed twelve hundred
