(g) The Sheriff of Cecil County shall receive an annual
salary of $3000. and $600. for expenses. The Sheriff shall
appoint a Chief Deputy who shall receive an annual salary
of $1600. and another deputy who shall receive an annual
salary of $1500. and each of said deputies shall receive
$600. annually for traveling and other expenses.

(h) The Sheriff of Charles County shall receive an
annual salary of $3000. He may appoint a Chief Deputy
who shall receive an annual salary of $2400., a second
deputy who shall receive an annual salary of $2000., and
a third deputy who shall receive an annual salary of $900.
There shall also be a fourth Deputy Sheriff who shall
receive an annual salary of $900., shall reside in or near
the town of La Plata and whose principal duties shall
consist of policing said town. The Sheriff, Chief Deputy
and second Deputy shall each receive $800. per year for
expenses and the third Deputy $300. for expenses. The
Sheriff shall also be allowed $400. per year for clerical
assistance.

(i) The Sheriff of Dorchester County shall receive an
annual salary of $2400. and $600. per year for expenses
and an additional $600. for maintenance of automobile for
the use of the Sheriff and his deputies. He shall appoint,
with the approval of the State's Attorney of Dorchester
County, a Chief Deputy Sheriff who shall receive an annual
salary of $1200. and who shall also serve as a special investi-
gator and county detective under the joint supervision and
direction of the Sheriff and the State's Attorney. He shall
be allowed $300. per year for expenses. The Sheriff shall
also appoint another deputy who shall receive an annual
salary of $910. The Sheriff and his deputies shall serve all
process, both civil and criminal, issued by the several
Trial Magistrates of Dorchester County.

(j) The Sheriff of Frederick County shall receive an
annual salary of $4000., in addition to lodging furnished
him and his family. He shall appoint three deputies who
shall each receive not less than $2400. per year and as many
jail wardens as may be necessary, not to exceed three (3),
at an annual salary of not less than $1320. each. The
Sheriff may appoint such additional special deputies as he
may deem necessary, with the approval of the County
Commissioners, as to number and compensation.

(k) The Sheriff of Garrett County shall receive an
annual salary of $2000. and $600. per year for expenses.
He shall appoint a deputy who shall receive an annual
