SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That three new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Sheriffs", to be under sub-title "Compen-
sation and Duties", said new sections to be known as
Sections 37A, 37B and 37C, to follow immediately after
Section 37 of said Article, and to read as follows:

37A. The Sheriffs of the several counties and of Balti-
more City and their deputies shall receive annually the
respective salaries herein prescribed for performing the
duties required of them by the Constitution and by the
