title "Prince George's County", sub-title "District Heights",
providing as follows: For an increase in the number of
commissioners from three (3) to five (5) ; for a change in
the manner of compensating the Treasurer of the Town
of District Heights; for the creation of the office of build-
ing inspector; to prescribe a method of assessing the own-
ers of real estate within the Town of District Heights for
the cost of installing sidewalks, curbs, guttering and like
improvements; for the transfer of any civil or criminal
action or proceeding instituted before a justice of the peace
to the nearest Trial Magistrate; and providing for town
police with a designation of their jurisdiction. Further to
add four new sections to said Article 17, said new sections
to be known as Sections 472 (M), 473 (C), 473 (D) and
475 (D) of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Dis-
trict Heights", providing as follows: For the appointment
of a health officer; for notification of interested property
owners to appear at a designated hearing called by the
District Heights Commission to show cause, if any, why
street and sidewalk improvements and construction deemed
necessary by the District Heights Commission should not
be made; for the authority of the District Heights Commis-
sion to borrow sums of money on credit of Town not to
exceed at any time any amount equal to three per cent
(3%) of the assessed valuation of all real property within
the Town in order to meet the cost of such improvements
as provided for in Section 473 (B) ; and authorizing the
Town of "District Heights" to contribute a sum of money
up to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) annually to the
District Heights Fire Department and to collect annually
One Dollar ($1.00) per year from each owner of improved
property within the Town of District Heights for each
piece or parcel of improved property owned in order to
accumulate the said fund. Further, providing for a refer-
endum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 472 (A), 472 (I), 473 (A), 473 (B),
477 (D), and 477 (F) of Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "District Heights", be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments; and that four new sections
be and they are hereby added to Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's Coun-
ty", sub-title "District Heights", said new sections to be known
as Sections 472 (M), 473 (C), 473 (D) and 475 (D) and to
read as follows:
