CHAPTER 860.

(House Bill 818)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 19A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Conser-
vation of Natural Resources", sub-title "Department of
Tidewater Fisheries", said new section to be known as
Section 6A and to follow immediately after Section 6 of
said Article, relating to the taking of eels within the
bounds of tidewater within which certain restrictions
presently obtain, and to the manner of taking the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 19A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Sup-
plement), title "Conservation of Natural Resources", sub-
title ''Department of Tidewater Fisheries", said new section
to be known as Section 6A, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 6 of said Article, and to read as follows:

6A. The Commission shall have general supervisory power,
regulation and control over the taking of eels within the
bounds of tidewater within which certain restrictions pres-
ently obtain, and in the sound exercise of this power, regula-
tion, and control the Commission is hereby authorized within
the said bounds of tidewater the area within which eels may
be taken and to prescribe the method or methods by means of
which the eels must be taken.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Ar-
ticle be and they are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1947.
