subject to indictment, and upon conviction thereof he shall
be fined a sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
390A. The County Commissioners of Wicomico County
shall provide the Sheriff and his family with suitable living
quarters at the jail in the Court House and shall furnish
all fuel, lights, telephones, kitchen utensils and equipment
and all necessary supplies, including the cost of laundry
for the jail.
390B. The County Commissioners of Wicomico County
are hereby directed, authorized and empowered to make pro-
vision by appropriation in their annual levy from year to
year for sufficient funds to pay the salaries and expenses
hereinbefore provided for.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any section,
paragraph, clause, sentence or part of this sub-title for any
reason be adjudged to be invalid, such judgment shall not
affect, impair or invalidate the remainder of this sub-title,
but shall be confined in its operation to the section, para-
graph, clause, sentence or part thereof directly involved in
the controversy in which such judgments shall have been
rendered.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are here-
by repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
