389E. At the time of rendering his monthly account for
expenses the Sheriff shall make to the County Commissioners
a full and detailed report of any and all fees collected by
him in the discharge of his official duties for the preceding
month, the said report to be under oath of the Sheriff and
to be accompanied by the Sheriff's check for the amount
thereof.
389F. The County Commissioners of Wicomico County
shall provide the Sheriff and his chief deputy with an office at
the Court House and shall furnish heat, light, telephones, books,
stationery, typewriters, files, postage stamps and all other
supplies necessary for said office.
390. The County Commissioners for Wicomico County
shall allow the Sheriff of Wicomico County each year:
First—the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00) a
year for matron service in managing the domestic economy
of the jail; Second—A sum not exceeding One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00) a year for a cook to the jail; Third—
The actual sum of money expended by the Sheriff in pur-
chasing food, necessary clothing, etc., for the prisoners at the
jail, which expenditures shall not exceed Fifty Cents (50c)
per day for each prisoner, provided that no allowance for
such expenditures made by the Sheriff, as aforesaid, shall
be paid or credited to the said Sheriff or for his account
unless the same shall be reported under oath to the County
Commissioners at each month in writing, which oath shall
show all the expenditures and that they are correct and have
been honestly and lawfully incurred under each of the pro-
visions as above set forth, and that the Sheriff himself has;
not derived any profit from the purchase thereof, that each
expenditure and purchase was reasonable and necessary and
the price thereof was not in excess of the market price, which
said report and affidavit shall be accompanied by properly
itemized vouchers or certificates showing to whom and or
what purpose the same were made. It shall be the duty of
the Sheriff to keep a book at the county jail in which he
shall keep a correct and full statement or schedule of all
prisoners committed to his custody, showing by what author-
ity, the offense charged, the time when received and the time
of discharge, which statement or schedule, together with all
books, papers and commitments kept by him pertaining to
prisoners in the jail shall at all times be open to the inspec-
tion of the County Commissioners, State's Attorney and
Grand Jury, and should the Sheriff neglect or refuse to keep
said book or comply with any of the duties which he is hereby
required to perform, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and
