sioners" (Higinbothom's Code), providing for payment of
funds to the Harford Memorial Hospital.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 214 of Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-title
"County Commissioners" (Higinbothom's Code), be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
214. The County Commissioners of Harford County are
hereby authorized, in their discretion, to pay to the Harford
Memorial Hospital, of Harford County, Maryland, on or
before the first day of September, in each year the sum of
Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), or so much thereof as the
said County Commissioners may deem proper, and the said
County Commissioners may in 1947, and annually thereafter,
provide for such payments by levy upon the assessable prop-
erty in Harford County.
The County Commissioners of Harford County are hereby
authorized to pay the Harford Memorial Hospital of Harford
County, Maryland, the sum of $5,000.00 for the year 1946.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law, and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety and being
passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three fifths of
all the members of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to add sixteen new sections to Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "Montgomery County", sub-title "Fire Companies",
to be under a new sub-heading "Upper Montgomery County
Volunteer Fire Department", said new sections to be known
as Sections 335A to 335P, inclusive, and to follow immedi-
ately after Section 335 of said Article, authorizing and
directing the County Commissioners to levy a tax to con-
struct a building for and to contribute to the operations
