enacted by Chapter 992 of the Laws of Maryland, 1943, the
purpose of the amendment being to authorize the respective
District Councils to make special exceptions to the provi-
sions of the zoning regulations in appropriate cases and
subject to appropriate principles, standards, rules, condi-
tions and safeguards.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2-V of the Maryland-Washington Regional
District Act, as enacted by Chapter 992, Laws of Maryland,
1943, be, and the same is, hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
V. A District Council may in its zoning regulations, pro-
vide that the Board of Zoning Appeals or the District Council
may, in appropriate cases and subject to appropriate princi-
ples, standards, rules, conditions and safeguards set forth
in the regulations, make special exceptions to the provisions
of the zoning regulations in harmony with their general
purposes and intent. The District Council may also author-
ize the Board of Zoning Appeals to interpret the zoning maps
or pass upon disputed questions of lot lines or district
boundary lines or similar questions as they arise in the admin-
istration of the regulations.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

(House Bill 468)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
2-GG of the Maryland-Washington Regional District Act,
as enacted by Chapter 992 of the Laws of Maryland, 1943,
the purpose of the amendments being to authorize the
levying of the administrative tax, authorized by Section
2-CC of said Act, in that part of the District heretofore
exempt from taxation.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2-GG of the Maryland-Washington Re-
gional District Act, as enacted by Chapter 992 of the Laws
of Maryland, 1943, be, and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
