land or in any other State, Territory, or Country, provided,
however, that dead upland game may be possessed five days
after the close of the season to be used as food, except deer
which may be possessed for thirty days after the close of the
season. Provided, however, game birds or game animals
killed legally in any other State or Country may be brought
or shipped by express or as baggage into this State when ac-
companied by the person killing same upon presentation of
permit from said State or Country in which said game was
killed and the required hunter's license of that State or Country
during any closed season for hunting of same in Maryland,
provided, said game or any part thereof shall not be sold
or offered for sale. Provided further, that upland game or
deer may be kept for a period not to exceed 180 days from the
date killed, by the "deep freeze" method where a licensed
hunter has obtained a permit from the game warden to do so.
Such hunter must obtain such a permit either during the sea-
son or within five days thereafter and said game warden is
hereby authorized to issue such permits.
(d) Provided, however, it shall be lawful to hunt during
the open season in Garrett, Allegany and Washington Coun-
ties when the ground is covered with snow; and further pro-
vided, that it shall be lawful to hunt only deer and wild
waterfowl in Cecil and Worcester Counties when the ground
is covered with snow.
(f) It shall be unlawful to shoot or shoot at any game
bird or game animal from an automobile or other vehicle
or on or within 100 yards of any paved public highway of
this State or have in possession in or on an automobile or
other vehicle a loaded shot-gun or rifle containing any am-
munition in the magazine or chamber.
(i) It shall be unlawful for any person, except when
such person holds a valid game breeder's license for fiscal
year, to sell, offer for sale, purchase, or offer to purchase,
barter, exchange, or buy at any time within the State of
Maryland any game bird or game animal of any species
(except muskrat) whether same has been caught or killed
within the State of Maryland or in any other State, terri-
tory, or country, except live game may be purchased and
kept in captivity for propagation purposes only upon secur-
ing a permit from the Game Warden, and the payment of
One Dollar ($1.00) for the first year and a fee of Fifty
Cents (50c) for the renewal of said permit for each year
thereafter.
23. (Export of Game.) (a) It shall be unlawful to export
or ship out from the limits of the State of Maryland any
