(G) That no member of said Commission shall receive
out of the Town funds or property any salary for his serv-
ices as such member of said Commission.
(H) That each of the Commissioners elected under
Section Nine of this Act shall, before entering upon the
duties of his office, take oath, before a Justice of the Peace
or a Notary Public, authorized by law to administer oaths
in Wicomico County, that he will diligently and faithfully
discharge all the duties of his office. Each of the Commis-
sioners elected under Section Ten of this Act shall likewise
take such an oath, but such oath of any of such last named
Commissioners may be taken either before the retiring
Secretary Commissioner or before a Justice of the Peace
or Notary Public authorized by law to administer oaths in
said County. Such oaths, or a certified copy of the same,
shall be kept among the Town records.
(I) That the Treasurer Commissioner shall give bond
to the Town of Fruitland, with such surety or sureties as
said Commission may by resolution require, in such amount
as the Fruitland Commission may require but not less than
the minimum sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).
The cost of said bond shall be paid out of the Town funds.
Said bond, or a certified copy thereof, shall be kept among
the Town records.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted:
(A) That the Town of Fruitland and the Fruitland
Commission shall have the power to open, widen, repair,
maintain and light the streets, roads, lanes, alleys and side-
walks of said Town, and shall have the power to grant
franchises not exceeding twenty-five years duration to
public utility companies, including electric light and gas
companies; provided, however, that improvements such as
curbing and sidewalks shall be made at the expense of the
abutting property owner and under regulations prescribed
by the Fruitland Commission; to provide for drainage,
sewerage, sanitation, clerical and other public services,
including fire protection, removal of ashes, garbage and
other refuse, and the disposal thereof; to provide and
maintain a meeting place of said Commission and a place
for the keeping of the records, books, property and other
things of said Town, to purchase, acquire by gift or grant,
and to hold or dispose of real and personal property for
the benefit of said Town, including the power to lease or
rent the same, to incur expenses and debts on behalf of
said Town; and to provide for and pay the expenses of
