known as the Fruitland Commission. Said Commission
shall be composed of three members, elected at large, to
be known as Commissioners, Said Commissioners shall be
selected and shall qualify as such Commissioners in the
manner provided for in this Act.

(B) That all acts and things done on behalf of said
Town shall be in the name of the Town of Fruitland, and
that all property purchased, or otherwise acquired by said
Town shall be purchased, acquired and held in the name
of the Town of Fruitland.

(C) That the Fruitland Commission shall, at its first
meeting following its election, by resolution, choose one
of its members as Chairman, to be known as the Chairman
Commissioner, and another of its members as Secretary, to
be known as the Secretary Commissioner, and another of
its members as Treasurer, to be known as Treasurer
Commissioner.

(D) That, subject to the provisions of this Act, such
Commission may regulate and conduct all its business and
meetings and the government of said Town; and a major-
ity of said Commissioners shall constitute a quorum.

(E) That the Secretary Commissioner shall have
charge of the Town seal and all property, records, books,
papers and other things of said Town and shall keep the
minutes of all meetings of said Commission. Said Secre-
tary Commissioner shall, within the limits of said Town,
have the same power and authority to administer oath of
office of the Commissioner, Constable, members of the
Board of Election Supervisors, and other Town Officers,
as is possessed by a Justice of the Peace and a Notary
Public. Any person, who knowingly swears falsely before
said Secretary Commissioner shall be guilty of the crime
of perjury and shall be subject to the penalties provided
by the laws of the State of Maryland.

(F) That all contracts or deeds made by said Com-
mission on behalf of the said Town shall be made in the
name of the Town of Fruitland and shall be signed by the
Chairman Commissioner and shall be attested by the
Secretary Commissioner, who shall seal the same with
the Town seal. No Commissioner and no other Town Offi-
cial shall be, directly or indirectly, personally financially
interested in any contract awarded or entered into by said
Commission on behalf of said Town.
