SECTION 1. Belt enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Washington County," sub-title "Hagers-
town," sub-heading "Pensions," said new section to be
known as Section 430A and to follow immediately after
Section 430 of said Article and to read as follows:
430A. The Mayor and Council of Hagerstown shall
have full power and authority by ordinance to establish
and maintain a general system of pensions and retirement
benefits for the officers and employees of said City; to fix
the terms of and restrictions on admission to such system
and the classifications therein; to provide for the separate
maintenance, or inclusion in such general pension system,
of any existing pension system (with the consent of a
majority of its participants) for officers and employees,
whose compensation is paid by the City; to provide, in
connection with such general pension system, a system of
benefits payable to the beneficiaries and dependents of
any participant in such general pension system after the
death of such participant (whether accidental or other-
wise and whether occurring in the actual performance
of duty or otherwise), subject to such exceptions, condi-
tions, restrictions and classifications as may be provided
by ordinance.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section
82 of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supplement) title "Motor Vehicles" providing
for the examination and licensing of students in courses
in driver education and training.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 82 of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles" be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
