INSTRUCTION AND EXAMINATION PERMIT, (a)
Any person desiring to receive a chauffeur's or a motor
vehicle operator's or motorcycle operator's license shall
first obtain an instruction and examination permit by
applying to the Department in Baltimore City upon a
form furnished by the Department and every said appli-
cation shall be accompanied by a fee of one ($1.00) dollar.

(b) Every said application shall state the full name
(first, middle and last names), residence address, race,
sex, height, weight and date of birth of the applicant
and shall state whether the applicant has heretofore been
licensed as an operator or chauffeur, and, if so, when and
by what State or Country, and whether any such license
has ever been suspended, revoked or refused and, if so, the
date of and reason for such suspension, revocation or
refusal, and every said application shall state the appli-
cant's general physical condition, occupation and other
pertinent facts as the Department may require. Every said
application shall be signed by the applicant and verified
in person before a person authorized to administer oaths.

(c) Such instruction and examination permit shall
entitle the person to whom it is issued to operate a motor
vehicle only when accompanied by a regularly licensed
Maryland operator or chauffeur who is actually occupying
a seat beside the person under instruction, and shall be
valid only for thirty days from the date of issue for the
purpose of instruction, after which time it shall expire
and become void. If further instruction is desired, a
renewal of the permit must be obtained for another thirty
days by forwarding the permit and one ($1.00) dollar fee
to the Department in Baltimore.

(d) The person under instruction may take the final
examination fifteen days or thereafter from the date the
permit was issued. Any person regularly licensed as an
operator or chauffeur in another State may be permitted to
take an immediate examination. The permit, except as
otherwise stated, will be honored for a period of ninety
days from the date of issue for the purpose of taking the
final examination. A person licensed to receive instruction
and qualified to take the required examinations for the
license applied for must appear in person at the Depart-
ment of Motor Vehicles in Baltimore City, or at any of
the places throughout the State which the Department
may designate for convenience of applicants.

(e) Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-sections (a)
to (d), inclusive, of this Section, any student fifteen years
