CHAPTER 642.

(Senate Bill 339)

AN ACT to repeal Section 108 of Article 99 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement) title "Birds,
Game and Inland Fish", sub-title "Regulations for Tak-
ing of Game and Fresh Water Fish in non-tidal Waters",
and to enact in lieu thereof two new sections to be known
as Section 108 and 108A to follow immediately after
Section 107 of said Article relating to the operation of
boats on Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County and pro-
viding penalties for certain violations.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108 of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement) title "Birds' Game and In-
land Water Fish", sub-title "Regulations for Taking of
Game and Fresh Water Fish in non-tidal Waters" be and
it is hereby repealed and that two new sections to be
known as Sections 108 and 108A be and they are hereby
enacted in lieu thereof to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 107 of said Article and to read as follows:

108. (Boats on Deep Creek Lake.) No motorboat
shall be used on Deep Creek Lake unless the owner thereof
first secures a license to operate said motorboat from the
Game and Inland Fish Commission. Said boats shall con-
form to the following regulations as set forth in this
section.

All boats so used on the waters of the Lake shall be
under the supervision of the Game and Inland Fish Com-
mission. It shall be the duty of the game wardens in
charge of the area to see that no boats shall be permitted
to ply the waters of said Lake that are not complying
with the following regulations or which are polluting the
waters with oil or other waste, and the said Game and
Inland Fish Commission and its Game Wardens are here-
by authorized and empowered to arrest anyone using any
boat in violation of the regulations contained in this Sec-
tion and shall be further empowered to revoke the license
and remove boats from said Lake if the owner or operator
of said boat or boats does not correct the irregularity. All
boats operated on the waters of Deep Creek Lake will
be assigned a number. Where a Federal number has been
assigned by the United States Coast Guard, that number
shall be assigned by the Commission. Said number will be
painted or displayed on some prominent part of the vessel.
