quish and transfer to the county the functions of construct-
ing, reconstructing and maintaining the county roads within
that county. Such transfer shall become effective on the first
day of the first State fiscal year following the request by the
County, and thereafter the State Roads Commission shall
have no duties, responsibilities or authority with respect to
the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of the
county roads of the particular county affected other than as
prescribed by Section 14 of this Article with respect to
county roads in general.
SEC. 21. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall be deemed to relieve any railroad or railway com-
pany of the obligations imposed upon it by Sections 26 to
39, inclusive, of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1939 Edition).
SEC. 22. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 122A to 122R, inclusive, of Article
89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement),
title "State Roads", sub-title "Motorways", Chapter 858
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1941,
and to enact in lieu thereof twenty-one new sections, to
follow immediately after Section 122 of said Article, under
a new sub-title "Bridge, Tunnel and Motorway Revenue
Bonds", and to be known as Sections 122A to 122U, inclu-
sive, authorizing the State Roads Commission to construct,
maintain, repair and operate bridges, tunnels and motor-
ways, including a bridge across the Chesapeake Bay; con-
ferring powers and imposing duties on the State Roads
Commission; authorizing the issuance of revenue bonds
of the State, payable solely from revenues, to pay the cost
of any such project or projects, or to pay the cost of any
such project or projects and to refund bonds payable from
the revenues of any other project or projects; providing
that no debt of the State shall be incurred in the exercise
of any such powers; providing for the collection of tolls
and other revenues from such projects and, unless pro-
