the Comissioners of Thurmont to establish a Police
Department and to provide for the installation of park-
ing meters.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Frederick County," sub-title "Thurmont,"
said new section to be known as Section 791A, to follow
immediately after Section 791 of said Article, and to read
as follows:
791A. The Commissioners of Thurmont are hereby
authorized to create and establish a Police Department
with such number of officers as they shall determine.
The said Commissioners are hereby authorized further to
install parking meters on the streets of the town of Thur-
mont at such places as they shall determine and to pre-
scribe by ordinance regulations for the use thereof. The
said Commissioners shall have power, by ordinance, to pre-
scribe penalties for the violation of any ordinance relating
to parking on the streets of said town or for violating any
regulation which the said Commissioners are authorized
to ordain as to the use of said parking meters. All fines
imposed for the violation of such ordinance or ordinances
shall be paid to the Town Clerk and be used for such pur-
poses as the said Commissioners shall determine.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 11 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Frederick County," sub-title "Thurmont," said
new section to be known as Section 783A and to follow
immediately after Section 783 of said Article, authoriz-
ing the Commissioners of Thurmont by ordinance to
adopt a building code and a zoning code.
