"Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 2. Formation of
Boards", said new section to be known as Section 7A and
to follow immediately after Section 7 of said Article, and
to read as follows:
7A. The Governor shall appoint a County Board of
Education for Calvert County, the Board to be composed
of five (5) persons, two (2) of whom shall be women.
The present members of the Board of Education of Calvert
County shall continue until the expiration of the terms
for which they are appointed, and their successors shall
be appointed for six (6) year terms, as now provided by
Section 6 of said Article. One of the women members of
said Board shall be appointed to hold office from the first
day of June, 1947, to the first Monday in May, 1949, and
one of said women members shall hold office from the
first day of June, 1947, to the first Monday in May, 1951,
and thereafter their successors shall be appointed for six
(6) year terms. Except as herein provided, all the other
provisions of Section 6 of Article 77 shall be applicable
in the appointment and removal of the members of the
Board of Education of Calvert County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 510.
(Senate Bill 177)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 100 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Work-
Hours of, In Factories", said new section to be known
as Section 78, to be under the sub-title "State Em-
ployees", and to follow immediately after Section 77 of
said Article, as said Section 77 was enacted by Chapter
1015 of the Acts of 1945, providing for the observance
by State employees of all legal holidays in State Depart-
ments and Institutions.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 100
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
