Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. McLane, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

House bill entitled an Act making appropriations for the
support of the State Government, for the fiscal year ending
September 30th, 1880,

With the following proposed amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Under head of "Judiciary," line 10, strike ont "five,"
and insert "two."

In 10th line, strike out "1,000 dollars," and insert "900
dollars."

Under head of "Inspections," insert alter word "of" in 1st
line, page 2, "the Supervisor of the State Tobacco Warehouse
and" ; after word "each" in 3d line, strike out "12,500 dol-
lars,'' and insert "15,000 dollars,"

Insert militia section stricken out in bill to read as follows:

"For the salary of the Adjutant-General of the State,
2,000 dollars to be paid out of the appropriation for the sup-
port of the militia; for the militia, to be expended under the
supervision of the Governor, in accordance with the provi-
sions of the Act of Assembly of 1870, Chapter 182, 15,000
dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary; for the pay-
ment of pensions granted by various Acts and Resolutions
of the General Assembly, 40,000 dollars, or so much thereof
as may be necessary."

Under head of "Schools," page 5, insert after word
"laws," "to the Deaf and Dumb Asylum, at Frederick, for
the education of the deaf and dumb, 20,000 dollars; to the
Maryland Agricultural College, 6,000 dollars; St. Mary's
Industrial School, 10,000 dollars; to the Maryland Indus-
trial School for Girls, 3,000 dollars; to the Boys' Home of
Baltimore City, 500 dollars."

Insert "for the State Normal School," inline 2, page 4.
