Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Chapter 244, of the
Acts of 1872, entitled an Act to authorize the appointment of
Weighers of Grain by the Governor, by repealing the 6th Sec-
tion of said Act, and re-enacting the same in an amended form.

Mr. Miller moved to substitute the bill for the unfavorable
report.

Senate bill entitled an Act directing the Comptroller to
issue his warrant to the Treasurer to pay John W. Denton
and Zachariah Bowen, for services rendered by them respec-
tively in the State Tobacco Warehouse, No. 2,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared, and deliv-
ered the following message:

Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message asking the return of the
House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 2, 3, 7 and 12,
of Acts of the General Assembly, passed at its Session of
1876, Chapter 173, entitled an Act regulating the working
and proper ventilation of coal mines in Allegany and Gar-
rett Counties, and herewith return said bill.
