Mr. Sulivane submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In Section 4, page 6, lines 6 and 7, strike out the words
"or teacher."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The President announced the second order of the day to be

Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit Life Insurance Com-
panies from contesting the payment of losses on policies, af-
ter having received premiums thereon for two years.

Said bill being upon its second reading.

The question recurring on the amendment submitted by
the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, on the 14th instant.

Mr. Gorman submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

"And provided further, that the misrepresentations were
not of such a material character, as to have affected the basis
of facts upon the faith of which the insurance was obtained
and granted."

Which was adopted.

The amendment submitted by the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings was then adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was thea read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading, by yeas and nays,
as follows:
