AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out Section 8 and re-enact the same so as to read as
follows:

"And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect when
the Congress of the United States shall have passed an Act
giving consent of the United States to the provision of this
Act."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to provide for a monument to
the memory of the late Hon. Thomas G. Pratt.

Which was read the second time.

Also reported, without recommendation,

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of five
hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary for
the purchase of a lot in Havre de Grace, and the erection
thereon of scales suitable for the weighing of hay, straw,

cattle and other commodities.

Which was read the second time.
Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal sub-Sections 15 and
27, of Chapter 182, of the Acts of the General Assembly,
passed at the January Session, 1870, entitled an Act to re-
peal the Act of 1868, Chapter 414, entitled an Act to repeal
Article 63, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
Militia in the City of Baltimore.

Said bill being upon its second reading,

The amendment submitted by the Committee on Militia on
the 7th inst., was then adopted.

On motion by Mr. McLane,

The vote by which said amendment was adopted, was re-
considered.

Mr. Joyce submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED,

Page 2, line 17, strike out the words "armorer at Easton."
Which was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.
