BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 16th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

The House of Delegates has passed the following order:

Ordered, That the Committee on Ways and Means be, and
are hereby instructed, to make a thorough investigation into
the management and affairs of the Susquehanna and Tide
Water Canal Company, and to recommend to this House
what legislation they deem proper and necessary to secure
and make available the State's interest in the same, and re-
spectfully request your Honorable Body to instruct the Com-
mittee on Finance of the Senate, to act jointly with the com-
mittee of this House, in making said investigation.
