4th. Strike out in line 3, Section 3, the words "shall be

deemed guilty of a misdemeanor."

5th. Add the following as Section 6 :
"And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

Mr. Lancaster, from a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for taking the vote

of the people of Charles County on the question of chang-
ing the county seat of said county, and removing the Court-
house from Port Tobacco to La Plata, and to provide for the
purchase of a site at La Plata, and the building of a Court-
house thereon.

Which was read the first time.
Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Charles County to remit to Thomas Craft; of
said county, money overpaid by him as taxes.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Dennis, from a Select Committee, reportel favorably
the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 41 and 42, of
Article 19, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Som-
erset County," sub-title "County Commissioners," and to
re-enact the same with amendments, providing for a Clerk to

said Commissioners and a Treasurer for said county.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments Section 95, of Article 19, of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Oysters,"
as amended by Chapter 129, of the Acts of 1867, entitled an
Act to repeal Sections 94, 95 and 97, of Article 19, of the
Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title
"Oysters," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which were read the first time.

Mr. Freeman, from the Committee on Temperance, re-

ported favorably the following bills:

Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of
ilicense for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager
