beer, at or within one mile of the village of Powhatan, in
Baltimore County,

Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of
license for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager
beer at or within one mile of the village of Wetheredsville,
in Baltimore County.

Which were read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Mr. Stump, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to regulate the fishing with
seines, and to provide for the protection of fish in the waters
of Gunpowder, Middle and Back rivers, and their tributary
streams, except Bird river,

With the following amendments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out Sections 3, 4 and 5.
Make Section 6, Section 3.
Make Section 7, Section 4.
Make Section 8, Section 5.
Mate Section 9, Section 6.

And strike out all after "Be it enacted, that this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

The President announced the first order of the day to be

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 13, of Chapter
483, of the Acts of 1874, entitled an Act to repeal Article 81,
of the Code of Public General Laws of the State of Maryland,
entitled "Revenue and Taxes," and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and to re-enact said section with amend-
ments.

Said bill being upon its third reading,

Mr. McLane submitted the following amendments to the
amendments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 149, line 1, after the word "be," insert the words,
"in the Treasury Department."

Strike out all after the word "shall" in the 10th line of
Section 149, to the word "shall aseess," in the 13th line.

Which were adapted.
