Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act to enlarge the privileges of
licensed hotelkeepers.
On motion by Mr. Freeman,
Leave was granted to the Committee oa Temperance to in-
troduce a bill to be entitled an Act to prohibit the issue of
license to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer at
or within one mile of the village of Powhatan, in Baltimore
County.
On motion by Mr. Wilson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Section
58, of Article 16, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Chancery," sub-title "Jurisdiction," as amended and re-
enacted by Chapter 450, of the Acts passed January Session,
1870, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion by Mr. Hepbron,
Leave was granted to Senators Hepbron, Ford and Combs,
of St. Mary's, to introduce a bill to be entitled aa Act to pro-
tect fox-hounds in Kent County" whilst engaged in. a fox-
chase or returning therefrom.
On motion by Mr. Gorman,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to be entitled an Act to provide for the con-
struction and maintenance of a line of Telegraph from the
House of Correction at Jessup's Station, Anne Arundel Coun-
ty, to the Police Headquarters in Baltimore City, from the
House of Refuge, in Baltimore County, to the Police Head-
quarters in Baltimore City, and from the State Penitentiary
to the Police Headquarters in Baltimore City.
On motion by Mr. Stump,
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 377, of the
Acts of 1872, entitled an Act to repeal an Act of 1870,
Chapter 311, entitled an Act to repeal an Act of 1868,
Chapter 407, entitled "Public Education," providing a
general system of Free Public Schools for the State of Mary-
land, and to repeal all laws iuconsistent therewith, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and to repeal Chapter
473, of the Acts of 1874, amendatory of the Acts of 1872,
