mine by ballot whether spirituous or fermented liquors shall
be sold in said districts, or a license granted for a sale of the
same therein,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Sulivane moved a call of the Senate.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to inform absent Sena-
tors that their presence was required in the Senate Cham-
ber.

On motion by Mr. McLane,

The further proceedings under the call were dispensed
with.

Mr. Bannon submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out in line 26, Sec. 4, "and be committed by the
Court where such conviction is had, until such fines and
costs are paid."

Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follows:

Sec. 5, line 5, after word "of," insert "at his place of
business."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared, and deliv-
