Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Governor to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace in the
Second Election District of Queen Anne's County,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 251, of the
Acts of 1876, entitled an Act to refund to the executors or
administrators of Samuel H. Birckhead, deceased, late Col-
lector of Taxes of the First District of Harford County, a
sum of money erroneously paid into the Treasury,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the promotion and improve-
ment of agriculture in the State of Maryland,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 164, of the
Acts passed at January Session, 1867, relating to payment of
costs incurred before Justices of the Peace before appeal can
be heard, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

The motion submitted by Mr. Sulivane to substitute the
bill for the unfavorable report, was rejected.

The question then recurring on the unfavorable report,
It was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The vote by which House bill entitled an Act to regulate
the fees of the State's Attorney for Charles County, was
passed,

Was reconsidered.

Said bill being upon its third reading,
Mr. Lancaster submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out "eight hundred" wherever it occurs, and insert
"one thousand."

Which was adopted by yeas and nays, as follows:
