Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and de-
livered the following message:

BT THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 1st, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate ;

We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return to this
House, for further consideration, the House bill entitled an
Aot to protect fish in the waters of Somerset County.

MILTON Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.

Also, returned

Senate bill entitled an Act to define and preserve the inner
harbor of Cambridge and Cambridge creek, in Dorchester
County.

Endorsed: "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendmnts :"

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 6, line 16, after the word "paid," insert the fol-
lowing, "for a period not less than thirty days, nor more
than six months, in the discretion of the Court."

At the end of Section 6, add the words "and provided
that this section shall not be construed to apply to such
marine railways as are now, or may hereafter be constructed
to run into said creek, or to the obstruction and improve-
ments necessarily incident thereto."

Section 9, in line 10, after the word "position," insert
"except steamer, vessels or other crafts lying at wharf, dis-
charging cargo or lying at wharf in employment or by con-
sent of owners of such wharf."

Which were concurred in, and bill passed by yeas and
