Mr. Lee submitted the following:

Ordered, That when the (Senate adjourns to-day, it stand
adjourned until Tuesday, March the 5th, at 12, M.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Steiner moved to strike out "Tuesday," and insert

"Monday."

On which motion,

Mr. (Steiner demanded the yeas and nays.

On the same being taken, it appeared as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Dennis, Steiner,
Freeman, Sulivane,
Garey, Welfley—8.
NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Bannon, Hepbron,
Combs, of Allegany, Hill,
Combs, oi St. Mary's, Lee,

Ford, Newcomer,
Franklin, Wilson,—13.
Gorman,

So the motion of Mr. Steiner was rejected.

The question then recurring on the order submitted by
Mr. Lee,

It was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Steiner, it was

Ordered, That the Senate hold a session on Thursday eve-
ning next, commencing at 8 o'clock, and that the said ses-
sion be devoted to the consideration of local bills.

On motion by Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of the Balti-
more Female College.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to empower the Peo-
ples' Passenger Railway Company of Baltimore City to ac-
cept subscriptions to its capital stock in personal property or
real estate, or in both personal property and real estate.
