Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

Mr. Ford, from a Select Committee, reported favorably the
following bills :

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Governor to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace in the
Second Election District of Queen Anne's County.

Which was read the first time.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact Sections 3.
and 4, of an Act passed by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, at its January Session, 1876, entitled an Act to incor-
porate the purchasers of the Queen Anne's and Kent Rail-
road, and to further amend said Act of Assembly, by adding,
an additional section thereto.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Joyce, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act of
1812, Chapter 159, entitled an Act for founding an Univer-
sity in the City or precincts of Baltimore, by the name of the
University of Maryland, and to authorize the regents of the
University of Maryland to apply a portion of the property
held by snid University to the general uses of said University
and to sell said property, and apply the proceeds to the gen-
eral uses of said University.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Hepbron, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act changing the place of voting in
the Third Election District of Kent County, from Worten.
Heights, or Hanesville, to Smithville, in said Election Dis-
trict.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Bannon, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to prohibit mules, horned cattle,
sheep and swine from running at large in the Third Election.
District of Anne Arundel County.

Which was read the second time,

Mr. Bannon, from a Select Committee, reported the fol-
lowing :

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 4, of Article
40, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Fines and
Forfeitures," as enacted by the Act of 1874, Chapter 59, en-
titled an Act to add an additional section to Article 40, of the
