Mr. Hill presented the petition of N. E. Berry, and 17
others, citizens of Prince George's County, in relation to the
tobacco trade.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on In-
spections.

Mr. Lancaster presented the petition of James Cunning-
ham, and 54 others, citizens of Charles County, praying that
the present Stock Law be not changed

Which was read and referred to Senators Lancaster,
Combs, of St. Mary's and Hill.

Mr. Hepbron presented the petition of George W. T. Per-
kins, James H. Plummer, Dr. Samuel Beck, George M.
Beasten, William H. Pennington and Joseph E. Gilpin and
800 others, citizens of Kent County, against the passage of
a Local Option Law.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. Ford presented the petition of William W. Bryan and
33 other citizens of Queen Anne's County, praying for a law
to enable the voters of said county to determine by ballot
whether spirituous and fermented liquors shall be sold in
said county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Also,

The petition of Thomas Sudler and 53 other citizens of
Crumpton, Queen Anne's County, praying for a law autho-
rizing the appointment of a Magistrate in the town of Crump-
ton, in said county.

Which were severally read, and referred to Senators Ford,
Miller and Lee.

Mr. Stump presented the petition of Eli Turner and 61
other citizens of Harford County, praying that the Public
School Law may be amended, so as to provide for the elec-
tion of School Commissioners by the people.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.

Also,

The petition of C. A. McGaw and 24 other citizens of
Harford County, praying the Legislature to change the pres-
ent law, relating to the weighing of grain by the State, so
