at the next general election for or against the repeal of the
Local Option Law.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. Sulivane presented the petition of C. C. M. Seymour
and 10 others, citizens of New Market District, Dorchester-
County, for an appropriation of five hundred dollars for the-
establishment of a Female Seminary.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Stump presented the petition of Samuel M. Ady and
42 others, citizens of Harford County, praying form the repeal
of the present law for the collection of taxes in said county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

On motion by Mr., Franklin, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Garey have leave of absence until Tues-
day next.

On motion by Mr. Stump,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to be entitled an Act to consolidate the Balti-
more and Swann Lake Passenger Railway Company, a cor-
poration created by the General Assembly of Maryland, by
the Act of 1868, Chapter 314, and the Baltimore, Towson-
town, Dulaney's Valley and Delta Narrow Guage Railway
Company, a corporation incorporated under the provisions of
the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1870, Chapter
476, with powers to construct, manage, and operate a railway
from the City of Baltimore, through Baltimore and Harford
Counties, to Delta, near the Pennsylvania line, under the
name of the Baltimore and Delta Railroad Company.

On motion by Mr. Stump,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed by
the General Assembly of Maryland, 1876, Chapter 251, en-
titled an Act to refund to the executor or administrator of
Samuel H. Birckhead, deceased, late Collector of the First-
District of Harford County, a sum of money erroneously
paid into the treasury.

On motion by Mr. Dennis,

Leave was granted to Senators Dennis, Franklin and Hum-
phreys to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act, amending
