Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.

Mr. McLane presented the petition of Wm. H. S. Bur-
gwyn, soliciting the aid of the General Assembly towards the
publication of the Digest of the Maryland Reports from 21st
Maryland to 48th Maryland, inclusive.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Humphreys presented the petition of Elijah S. Adkins,
guardian of C. S. H. Littleton, minor, Jas. Galliss, Levin M..
Dashiell and James H. West, Judges of the Orphans' Court
of Wicomico County, and William Birchead, Register of
Wills for Wicomico County, asking for the passage of an Act
enabling C. S. H. Littleton to take charge of his property
and release his guardian.

Which was read and referred to Senators Humphreys,.
Dennis and Franklin.

On motion by Mr. Lee, it was

Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate be, and he is
hereby, authorized and directed to procure a thermometer for.
the use of the Senate.

On motion by Mr. Peter,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to provide for the making of a Gene-
ral Index to the Last Wills and Testaments recorded in the
office of Register of Wills for Montgomery County.
