Section 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Mr. Sulivane submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the words, "A Bill," in the title, and
insert the following :

"Entitled an Act to lay out and establish a new Elec-
tion District in Caroline County, out of a portion of the
Third Election District of said county, to be called the Hills-
borough. District, or Election District No. 6." .

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new Election District be laid out and estab-
lished out of that portion of Election District No. 3, of Caro-
line County, as lies west of the Choptank River ; the said
new district to be called by the name of Hillsborough Dis-
trict, or Election District No. 6.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the boundary lines of said
new district shall run as follows: Beginning at a point on
Choptank River, at the mouth of Tuckahoe Creek, and run-
ning northerly with Choptank River to the Stock Landing
Mills ; thence with the present dividing line between the
Second and Third Election Districts to the head of Tuckahoe
Creek, at Wilson's (or Turner's) Mill; thence southeasterly
with Tuckahoe Creek to the place of beginning.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the place of holding elec-
tions in said Hillsborough District, or District No. 6, shall
be at Hillsborough.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the Governor shall ap-
point one Justice of the Peace and one Register of Voters for
said Hillsborough District, and the Commissioners of Caro-
line County, shall appoint one Constable, and one Tax Col-
lector, in and for said District No. 6.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants of the said
Hillsborough District, or Election District No. 6, shall be
entitled in all respects to all the rights and privileges held
or to be held or enjoyed by the other Election Districts in
said county.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Caroline County shall furnish a proper book for re-
gistration, such as may be required by law, to be delivered
to the Register of voters for said Hillsborough district, and
said Clerk shall, also, at the same time, deliver to said Re-
gister a full list under the seal of his office, of all registered
persons or voters appearing on the Registration Book for said
