On motion by Mr. Wilson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to amend the
44th Section of the 24th Article, of the Code of Public
General Laws of the State, entitled "Conveyancing," sub-
title "Bills of Sale."

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to Senators Sulivane, Stump and Hum-
phreys, to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to protect
the rights of property in Dorchester County.

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Sec-
tion 89, of Article 16, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Chancery," sub-title "Non-Residents," as enacted by
the Act passed at January Session, 1868, Chapter 200, and
to re-enact the same so as to read as follows.

The Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared
and delivered a communication from the Executive, endorsed
"Executive Business."

On motion by Mr. Combs, of Allegany,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to be entitled an Act to incorporate the town of
Lonaconing, in Allegany County.

Mr. Franklin, from the Committee on Elections, submitted
the following

REPORT.

The undersigned Committee on Elections to examine and
report upon the election and qualification of the members of
the Senate of Maryland, beg leave to report that they have
discharged the duty assigned to them by examining the re-
turns of the election held on the 6th day of November, in the
year 1877, in the several counties of the State, and in the
Second Legislative District of Baltimore City, and have as-
certained and report that the following Senators have been
duly elected:

Allegany County, John S. Combs.

Baltimore City—2nd Legislative Dist.—Robert M. McLane.

Caroline County, Thomas F. Garey.

Cecil County, John M. Miller.

Calvert County, Joseph A. Wilson.
