The question then recurring upon the motion of Mr.
Stump,

It was adopted.
And,

On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Said bill was postponed, and made the order of the day for
Thursday, the 21st instant.

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the East New
Market Navigation and Wharf Company,

Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Sulivane submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In Section 12, strike out all after the word "aforesaid" in
line 31, down to the semicolon preceding the word "either"
in line 35.

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled an Act relating to Justices of the
Peace in and for Carroll County,

Being upon its third reading,

Mr. McLane, submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

"And provided further, that when any cause of action
arises in any other county or the City of Baltimore, suit
may be brought before any Justice of the Peace in the
county."

Mr. Sulivane submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

"And provided that where there are two or more defen-
dants residing in different districts, it shall be lawful to in-
stitute proceedings in any district in which any defendant
resides."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the third time, and
passed by yeas and nays, as follows :
