others, and most respectfully and earnestly pray the Legisla-
ture now in session to extend the privilege of this beneficent
enactment to the whole State.

Resolved, That Revs. Samuel V. Leach, Thos. L. Poulson
and J. McKendree Reilly be appointed a committee to go to
Annapolis and convey these our resolves to the Senate and
House of Delegates.

perance.

Mr. Joyce presented the memorial of Christine Surgens, of
Baltimore City, asking for compensation for the loss of her
son at Tobacco Warehouse No. 5, in the City of Baltimore.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee oa Fi-
nance.

Mr. Lancaster presented the petition of William L. De-
ment and T. R. Far rail and 50 others, citizens of Charles
County, praying for an Act to enable the voters of said
county to vote upon the question of changing the county seat
of said county from Port Tobacco to Le Plata, and building
a new court house at the latter place.

Which was read, and referred to Senators Lancaster,
Combs, of St. Mary's, and Hill.

Mr. Franklin presented the petition of John R. Purnell
and 73 others, citizens of Worcester County, praying for an
Act requiring all shows, menageries and circuses to pay a
license of $500 in each of the counties of this State in which
they may exhibit.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Hill presented the petition of James T. Perkins and
109 others, citizens of Prince George's County, praying for
an Act to enable the qualified voters of said county to deter-
mine by ballot whether spirituous liquors shall be sold in
said county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. McLane presented the memorial of Dr. J. C. Backus,
C. D. Marquis and 14 other ministers of the meeting of the
Presbyterian Association of Baltimore, praying for a General
Local Option Law,
