On motion by Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore City Senators to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act to amend the charter of the
Board of Trade of the City of Baltimore.

On motion by Mr. Garey,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act to refund a sum of money to
John S. Waters, of Caroline County, for a due proportion of
a liquor license procured by him, and made inoperative on
account of Local Option.

Mr. Lee submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

February 12th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Home of Delegates:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
that the Standing Committee on Inspections of the Senate
and the Standing Committee on Inspections of the House of
Delegates be declared a Joint Standing Committee on In-
spections, and that all questions pertaining to inspections or
the inspection system of the State be referred thereto.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Freeman, from the Committee on Temperance, re-
ported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to prevent the sale of spirituous
and fermented liquors within the distance of one-half mile
from the main exhibition hall of the Agricultural and Me-
chanical Society of Harford County, during the days of any
exhibitions of said Society,

Witb the request that it be referred to the Committee on
Finance.

Which was read the second time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Mr. Hill, from a Select Committee, reported favorably.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 57, of the Code

of Public Local Laws for Prince George's County, as enacted

by the Act of 1876, Chapter 105, entitled an Act to repeal

Section 44, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
