to repeal Section 4, Article 64, of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled "Mortgages," and upon Senate bill entitled
an Act to repeal Chapter 294, entitled "Mortgages," of the
Acts of 1870 ; Section 2, Chapter 483, of the Act passed at
January Session, 1874, entitled "Revenue and Taxes," and
Section 1, Chapter 260, of the Act passed at January Ses-
sion, 1870, entitled an Act to provide for the general assess-
ment of property in this State, and to enact the following
in lieu thereof, and that the same bo made the special order
of the day.

On motion by Mr. Stump,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act to compensate the counsel
employed by the Governor in the mandamus case of Charles
J. M. Gwinn vs. James B. Groome, Governor, for their pro-
fessional services.
On motion by Mr. Combs, of St. Mary's,
Leave was granted to Senators Combs, of St. Mary's, Lee,
and Gorman to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to re-
peal Sections from 1 to 26, inclusive, of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "St. Mary's County," sub-title "Alms-
house," and to enact a substitute therefor.
On motion by Mr. Miller,
Leave was granted to Senators Miller, Ford and Combs, of
St. Mary's, to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal
Sections 4 and 6, of the Act of 1876, Chapter 281, providing
for the regulation of the sale of spirituous and fermented
liquor or lager beer, in Cecil County, and to enact the fol-
lowing in lieu of said 6th Section of said Act.
