Section 198, line 3, insert after the words "Spring Gar-
dens," the words "for the purpose of and."

Section 198. Whenever the words "three hundred" occur,
insert instead thereof, the words "fifty," and whenever the
words "five hundred" occur, insert instead thereof, the
words "two hundred and fifty."

Amend Section 198, line 11, by striking out after the
words "to jail," the words, "for not more than six months,"
and insert "for not more than thirty days, or until discharg-
ed by due course of law."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 176, of Chapter
814, of an Act passed January Session, 1870, entitled an Act
to add additional sections to Article 11, of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Frederick County, relating to the powers
and duties of the Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of
Frederick, to follow section 169, added thereto by the Act of
1868, Chapter 87, and to enact a substitute in lieu thereof.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

House bill entitled an Act relating to Justices of the
Peace, in and for Carroll County.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Lee, Ford and Miller.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 155, of the
Act of 1876, entitled an Act for the better protection of
birds and game in Wicomico County, and to re-enact the
following in lieu thereof.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Franklin, Dennis and Humphreys.

Also, returned

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 138, of the
Acts passed at the January Session, 1874, Chapter 483, en-
titled an Act to repeal Article 81, of the Code of Public
General Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled "Revenue
and Taxes," and to re-enact the same with amendments, and
to amend and re-enact the said 138th Section.

Endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays."
