On motion by Mr. Sulivane, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Herman
Stump, Senator from Harford County, was absent from the
Senate yesterday on business of the State.

On motion by Mr, Hepbron,

Leave was granted to the Committee oa Inspections to in-
troduce a bill to be entitled an Act to require the fertilizers
sold in this State, to be of an analysis equal to the brand placed
on the same, and to require such fertilizers to be branded with
the true analysis thereof.

On motion by Mr. Hepbron,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of J. W. How-
ard, late Collector of 3rd District of Kent County, for years
1874 and 1875, for Taxes paid into Treasury in error.

On motion by Mr. Hepbron,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of Wm. Hepbron,
late Collector of 3rd District, of Kent County, for years 1872
and 1873, for taxes paid into the Treasury in error.

On motion by Mr. Franklin,

Leave was granted to a Select Committee, to introduce a
bill to be entitled an Act to provide for surveying and mark-
ing the boundary line between the States of Maryland and
Yirginia, as ascertained and determined by the arbitrators
heretofore appointed on the part of Maryland and Virginia
respectively.

On motion by Mr. Steiner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to refund to Dr. J. W. Downey,
of New Market, Frederick County, a sum of money erron-
eously paid by him into the State Treasury.

Ou motion by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of the securi-
ties of James Lusby, late Collector of State Taxes of Anne
Arundel County,

Mr. Cooper, from the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay
and its Tributaries, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 1, of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland, of January Session,
