"On motion by Mr. Lee,

The President of the Senate was authorized and directed to
appoint a Standing Committee on Inspections.

Whereupon the President appointed Senators Lee, McLane,
Pennon, Hill and Combs, of St. Mary's, as the Standing
Committee on Inspections.

Mr. McLane presented the memorial of the Maryland
Academy of Sciences, praying the aid of the State in the
erection of its buildings.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

On motion by Mr. Bannon, it was

Ordered, That James Legg, of the city of Annapolis, be,
and is hereby, appointed as assistant police officer to keep
order in the hall and protect the property of the State during
the present Session in the halls and committee rooms of the
Senate.

Mr. Ford submitted the following :

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns to-day, it stand
adjourned until Tuesday next at 12 M.

Mr. Steiner demanded the yeas and nays.
On the question being put,

It was decided in the affirmative, by yeas and nays as fol-
lows :
