No. 15. An Act to repeal and re-enact Section 29, of Chap-
ter 151, of the Acts of 1872, entitled an Act to incorporate
the Town of Crisfield in Somerset County.
No. 16. An Act to provide for the further extension of the
cbarter of the Frederick Town Savings Institution, supple-
mentary to an Act, passed at January Session, 1858, Chapter
162, entitled a further supplement to an Act entitled an Act
to incorporate the Frederick Town Savings Institution, passed
at December Session, 1826, March, 1827, Chapter 189, repeal-
ing the 1st Section thereof and re-enacting the same with
amendments.
No. 17. An Act to authorize the Commissioners of the
Town of Salisbury, in Wicomico County, to appropriate the
sum of five hundred dollars out of the levy of 1878, to defray
the expense of purchasing a fire engine.
No. 18. An Act authorizing the Eegister of Wills for
Montgomery County, to make a general index to the last
wills and testaments recorded in the office of the Register of
Wills for Montgomery County.
The President presented to the Senate a communication
from George H. Williams, Secretary of the Baltimore and
Harford and Baltimore and Havre de Grace Turnpike Com-
panies, together with the annual abstracts of accounts.
Which were read, and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.
Mr. Lancaster presented the petition of John W. Mitchell
and 37 others, citizens of Charles County, against the re-
moval ol the Court House in said county.
Which was read, and referred to Senators Lancaster, Combs,
of St. Mary's and Hill.
Mr. Stump presented the petition of C, A. Hoopman and
42 others, citizens of Harford County, praying that the law
in relation to fishing with stake nets or pound nets in the
waters of Bush River and Romney Creek may not be altered.
Which was read, and referred to Senators Stump, Miller
and Freeman.
Mr. McLane presented the petition of Thomas I. Hall &
Co., and others, tobacco merchants, of Baltimore, praying
for the repeal of the law in reference to the compulsory sys-
tem of the present tobacco inspection.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee oa Inspec-
tions, (hereafter to be appointed.)
