Resolved, By the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore,
that the Senators and Delegates from Baltimore City, in the
General Assembly be, and they are hereby, respectfully re-
quested to oppose the passage of the proposed bill, diverting
from the use of the Public Schools in the State, the money
actually collected for them.

ANNAPOLIS, February 1st, 1878. J

Hon. Edward Lloyd, President of the Senate.

My Dear Sir: —I hand you herewith a communication
from the Board of Directors of the Chesapeake and Ohio
Canal Company, in relation to a bill now pending before
your Honorable Body, to authorize the issuing of bonds for
repair of Canal, with request to submit the same to Senate.

H. Neavitt, Wm. Cummings and 64 other citizens of Talbot
County, praying for a continuation of the present law for the
protection of the tonging interest in Poplar Island Harbor.

The petition of John Q. Laramore and Theodore F. Had-
away and 90 other citizens of Talbot County, praying for a
uniform system of measuring oysters in the shell.
