Which were read, and referred to the Committee on the

Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Dennis presented the petition and memorial of the Di-
rectors of the Maryland Industrial School for Girls for an ap-
propriation.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Cooper submitted the following:

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns to-day, it stand

adjourned until Tuesday next, at 12 o'clock.

Mr. Franklin submitted the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

"Strikeout "Tuesday" and insert "Monday. "
On the question being put on the amendment,
It was rejected.
The order was then adopted.

On motion by Mr. Bannon, it was

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be directed to pay to John K. Walton $15, for mileage due
him as an officer of the Senate for January Session, 1870.

On motion by Mr. Stump, it was

Ordered, That it bo entered on the Journal that Clement
Sulivane, Senator from Dorchester, was detained from at-
tendance yesterday by unavoidable accident of travel.

On motion by Mr. Franklin,

Leave was granted to Senators Franklin, Dennis and Hum-
phreys to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Sec-
tion 6, of Chapter 277, of the Acts of 1876, relating to fish-
ing in the waters of Worcester County, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Sec-
tion 6, of Article 38, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Fees of Officers, " and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to add a Section
